FAQ ABOUT SELF EMPLOYMENT AND EARLY RETIREMENT
If you work as a self-employed person in another EEA country, then the main rule is that you cannot be insured against unemployment in Denmark. In these cases, you can continue to be a member of FTFa.
Apart from Denmark, only a few other countries insure members who run their own businesses. You must therefore contact FTFa before starting your own business in another country.
If you receive early retirement payments, you can move to another EEA country and still receive your early retirement payments from Denmark. As always, you have to fill in your early retirement payment form and send it to the unemployment insurance fund.
You can take three months of holiday in non-EEA countries during each calendar year whilst receiving early retirement payments.
You have to continue to be a member of a Danish unemployment insurance fund while you are receiving early retirement payments abroad.
