MEMBERS UNDER EDUCATION AGED 30 AND ABOVE CAN NOW GET FREE MEMBERSHIP
Starting from January 1, 2025, new rules will come into effect, allowing members over the age of 30 to receive free membership of the unemployment ensurance fund (a-kasse) if they are in education or are apprentices. These new rules are part of the 2025 Finance Agreement and will improve conditions for our members.

What do the new rules entail?
From January 1, 2025, the following applies:
- Free membership for members over 30: If you are in education or are an apprentice, you are eligible for free membership.
- No requirement for early retirement contributions: It will no longer be necessary to pay early retirement contributions in order to receive free membership.
- The same income ceiling for everyone: The income ceiling for free membership now also applies to apprentices and is set at DKK 305,420 per year (DKK 25,452 per month) for 2025.
What does this mean for you?
If you are over 30 and in education, you will no longer have to pay A-kasse membership fees starting in 2025.
You don’t need to take any action. We are already in the process of stopping the collection of fees for the first quarter of 2025 for members who:
- are over 30, are in education, and did not qualify for free membership in 2024.
